OFSTED INSPECTION OUTCOME - GRAVENEY IS OUTSTANDING!
We were inspected by Ofsted on 30th November and 1st December 2022 and the final Ofsted report is now published.
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved an Outstanding status in each of the six areas defined by the Ofsted Framework. Read the report
This is a tremendous achievement and one that I know our whole school community will be very proud of. You may know that a new inspection framework was introduced in September 2021 and at that time there was an explicit intention to ‘raise the bar’ and make it harder for schools to reach this highest level. Experience since September 2021 has shown that almost 90% of schools with an Outstanding status under the last framework have had that status removed, either moving to ‘good’ or in some cases ‘requires improvement’. In this context our achievement is really very special indeed.
We’d like to thank our families for their support and encouragement as we’ve worked to re-build after COVID and in particular for the very positive feedback so many of you provided to the inspectors through the parent survey. We received equally positive feedback from staff and students. We’re pleased too that those with views about how we can improve further took the opportunity to bring these to the attention of our inspectors.
Despite the fact that Ofsted have not identified any areas for improvement in their report, we are not complacent about our achievement and will continue to work with families, to make sure that children always get the best they possibly can from their experience at Graveney.
