Medicines Sans Frontieres Fundraiser
On Tuesday we were delighted to hold our 6th Form Communal Lunch fundraiser in College House Hall in aid of one of our chosen charities Medicines Sans Frontieres/ Doctors Without Borders. This event was the brainchild of 4 of our Senior Prefects: Hunbal, Nyla, Didan and Ngaire as a response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Middle East.
In total 60 students and staff either cooked, baked or helped with the arrangements and approximately 180 students attended the event. Donations were suggested at £3 however we were touched that many students chose to give more. As a result of this, and together with the collection at the KS5 Presentation evening, we have raised over £700 and still counting.
We were also delighted that the event was supported by 3 staff from MSF which included an excellent after lunch speech by Katie Stokes that really helped the students understand the work that MSF do and as a result how their money will be used. Our thanks go to all those involved in making this happen – it has been a delight working with our inspiring 6th Form students to make the event such a success.
