Graveney School

Cooking workshop with Hello Fresh

This term the school partnered with meal kit company HelloFresh’s Black Heritage Network who came in to deliver workshops to Year 10 students.

BHN is an employee resource group dedicated to celebrating Black culture, promoting diversity and inclusion and creating meaningful opportunities within the community.

The BHN team, including Graveney alumna Sumayyah Aurelien,  delivered two interactive workshops for Year 10 students, focused on food, culture, and careers. In the first session, Fresh Roots: Build Your Box, students stepped into the role of a  customer to learn how meals are curated. The second workshop, Cook, Taste & Learn, gave students the chance to become recipe developers, creating dishes inspired by their own heritage.

Students had an opportunity to cook a HelloFresh box of their choice. The session was really enjoyed by all students and as you can see from the photos, they made some delicious looking meals.

The school will look at further activities, including a potential visit to their head office to learn more about careers in the Food and Nutrition Industry.
