Making a Gap year application

MAKING A UCAS APPLICATION IN YOUR GAP YEAR

Please remember that the UCAS cycle will be early on in your Gap year and so it is better to be prepared and get it out of the way.

Please make sure you have contacted Mrs Appleton via zappleton@graveney.wandsworth.sch.uk before Monday 8th September 2025 if you are making an early entry application and by Friday 24th October 2025 for all other UCAS applications. You will need to let us know what subject you are intending to apply for and your plans for your Gap year so we can incorporate this information into your reference.

Once you have made contact, we can provide you with instructions to make your application through the school and assign a referee. Please do NOT approach any other member of staff at school for a reference. We will co-ordinate all of this on your behalf.

Our school UCAS application deadlines for submission of completed applications is 18:00 on Friday 12th December 2025.

As a Leaver you must ensure that you have registered with UCAS and contacted us by Friday 24th October 2025 to let us know you will be making an application. Due to the volume of applicants we work with each year, we cannot guarantee that we can assist you if you fail to meet these deadlines.

If you require support with your Personal Statement, please refer to page 11 and 12 of the Graveney Guide to Next Steps and follow the guidance provided. Please note that if you require a member of staff to proofread your personal statement, you will need to ensure that you have contacted us by the dates above.
